Working in tandem with ministry leaders and teams to manage corporate projects to meet the strategic agenda and fulfill the missional mandate.
Laurel joined Church of God in Ontario in September 2012, as Executive Coordinator & Corporate Secretary-Treasurer and in 2016 was promoted to Project Manager, Corporate Support Services and Secretary-Treasurer. As an Officer of the Corporation, Laurel is responsible for managing corporate projects; providing support to the Regional Council and Administrative Bishop; overseeing the management of financial administration functions; as well as provide advice and support to local member organizations.
Laurel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Management) from University of Technology, Jamaica and Bachelor’s Degree in Health Service Management from Ryerson University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Centennial College.
A Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) since March 2018, Laurel has been a member with PMI since 2010. Laurel is also trained in Executive Leadership, Board Governance, Occupational Health and Safety, and is certified in CPR & First-Aid.
An avid reader, Laurel has passion for evangelism, outreach and community service. She currently volunteers with the PMI Lakershore Chapter as Portfolio Manager and previously served on the Cadarackque Public School Community Council and as a Board Member of a local women’s shelter. Laurel has a 15 year old son, Matthew, who she considers to be her pride and joy.
