Letter From the Administrative Bishop
Women's Ministries Director & Credentialing Secretary
Bishop Dr. D. R. BindaFirst Lady Chaplain Marie Binda |
Dear Church of God in Ontario Ministers and Laity: It is with much joy and excitement that we make the transition to our new Leadership roles in our COGIO Regional Office. When we received the news of our appointment, we were both joyful and humbled. We are grateful that this region has such a rich and wonderful history, life-giving churches, and a multiplicity of diversity within its borders. We are humbled because, without a doubt, this is the greatest responsibility afforded to us in leadership. The very fact that we have been entrusted with this assignment by the Executive Committee is a great honour. We are committed to serving you and the people of Ontario. The ministers and laity of COGIO have supported us over the years and deserve the very best that we have to offer. Our hand is on the plow, and we are committed to serving the Kingdom of God. We are moving forward and taking territory. Together, we can FINISH the Great Commission in our lifetime. Unite and pray with us as we journey and labour together for the Master. The Church of God has always believed in the transforming power of Jesus Christ. That the Great Commission Matthew 28:16-20 and the Great Commandment Matthew 22:36β40 to go and to love are the absolute mandates of the gospel to the church. Our focus is βthe church on mission.β We cannot afford to be diverted from ministry and our FINISH commitment, to reach a hurting lost world and to love all people just as God loves us. In this new era of ministry, we must be creative and innovative. God is giving us an open window; we must take advantage of our mission right now. We must not allow the culture to determine the message, but rather create a new culture on Mission. Let us serve one another and expand the Kingdom of God here on earth. I leave you with the Words, Philippians 3:12-14 [KJV] "12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." May the Lord richly bless you as you serve Him. With our love! Bishop Dr. D. R. Binda Administrative Bishop & CEO, COGIO First Lady Marie Binda Women's Ministries Director, COGIO. |

MOVING FORWARD TAKING TERRITORY
Incorporated in 2012, the Corporation is one of three regional executive offices of the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee, that is located in Canada. Since our beginning, COGIO has been a movement of Pentecostal Christians, supporting family members, friends and visitors. The organization is comprised of 80 congregations and 250 clergies, credentialed through the Church of God and close to 10,000 congregational members of cross-cultural backgrounds, dispersed across Eastern Canada.
We advocate for and serve the community for decades, providing counselling, performing marriages, christening babies and conducting funerals or memorial services of loved ones who have passed away. We also facilitate members interested in ministry, with obtaining of licensure for ministerial credential with the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee.
