The Church of God in Ontario is one of three regional executive offices in Canada, chartered of Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee and is dedicated to advancing the work of the Mission Mandate. With our international headquarters located in Cleveland, Tennessee, the movement traces its roots to 1886 in a meeting house located at Barney Creek in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee. The mission of the Church of God is to perpetuate the full gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19,20), in the Spirit and power of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4, 6, 13-18), through specific attention to and emphasis upon the centrality of God’s Word, world evangelization, ministerial development, Christian discipleship, lay ministry, biblical stewardship, church growth, church planting, family enrichment, and servant leadership.

The Ministers of the Region, in conference, elects a Board of not less than eight Councilors to advise the Regional Administrative Bishop (The Regional Administrative Bishop serves as an ex-officio Chairman on the Regional Council). The Councilmen must be Ordained Bishops; Ordained Ministers may be appointed as Councilmen by the General Overseer of the Church of God on recommendation of the Administrative Bishop, if the number of Bishops were not elected by the ministers.

With the Administrative Bishop, the Regional Council have supervision over the Region's treasury in accordance with the Minutes of the International General Assembly, Church of God [73 A. 2010].

The Regional Council is accountable to the Administrative Bishop and will meet as often as the Ministers and Administrative Bishop deem it necessary. The Regional Council and Administrative Bishop is accountable to the members, through presentation of its business plan, annual reports, and financial statements.

The Regional Council counsels and acts with the Administrative Bishop, in the study and preparation of recommendations for the Regional Minister's Conference [43rd A., 1950, pp. 19, 20].
