2023 ANNUAL REGIONAL CONVENTION/CAMP MEETING
June 4-7, 2023
Christian Greetings!
Fellow Pastors, Ministers, and Laity, we praise the Lord for what He is doing in our region. We have been receiving exciting news of salvation, water baptisms, churches returning to pre-COVID levels in attendance, baptisms in the Holy Ghosts, healings, miracles, and growth in membership. The Church of God in Ontario is on a mission - the mission of the church is the Great Commission. Matthew 28:18-20. The Minutes of the International General Assembly of the Church of God states, “The Mission of the Church of God is to communicate the full gospel of Jesus Christ in the Spirit and Power of Pentecost.”
What moves the Lord are people, especially lost people. Matthew 9: 35-38 tells us that Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness. When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest.”
We are committed to the following core values - Prayer, Pentecostal Worship, World Evangelization, Church Planting, Leadership Development, Care, Interdependence, Communication, Discipleship and Education. Furthermore, the Church of God recognizes the local church as the foundation of all ministry activities and will renew efforts to acknowledge, affirm, strengthen, and support the central importance of the local church [Minutes of the International General Assembly, 2022.p. 43].
You have been supporting the mission. We have seen some improvement in ministerial and church reportings. We are pleased that the Church of God in Ontario is moving in the right direction and commend those churches and ministers that consistently report on a monthly basis. We thank you for your faithfulness and commitment.
In our pursuit of the mission, our monthly reporting and sowing of our Tithe of Tithes will help the region effectively plan, measure our success and focus our attention on the harvest. Please note as a reminder the Minutes of the International General Assembly Church of God states under Duties and Responsibilities of Church Treasurer [2022, S.6 p157], directs, Church Treasurers to "Prepare monthly reports and send one copy to the Secretary General (Church of God in Canada) and one copy to the State Overseer by the fifth of each month on the (reporting) forms provided by the Secretary General’s office." Pastors are required to sign off on all Treasurer's Reports
We hope this message finds you doing well and keeping safe. Please know, we are here to serve you, and we look forward to doing so!
Thank you again for your continued support. May God continue to bless you and your family.
